Modern language teaching relies on the fact that teachers constantly develop, i.e. enlarge their knowledge and skills. This applies for the fields of methodology and didactics, but also for developments and phenomena taking place in the country whose language is taught at school. Teachers further their cultural and intercultural competence through intensive contact with the country in question . On top of that, training courses taking place in the target country, which are attended by teachers from various European nations, offer the opportunity to achieve a fruitful and vivid exchange on a European level. Teachers often forget, to which degree they have been marked by the reality in their native countries. By meeting others they are more likely to deeply reflect their own situation, which may lead to process in which innovative solutions are accepted more easily. Such an openess is frequently realized when teachers meet in order to learn, analyze and discuss. This is the case with teacher training courses in the country whose language is taught at home. In this context, modern communication tools are extremely helpful, as they definitely faciliate the exchange both of experiences and ideas as well as of material created by colleagues all over Europe.
