Since the foundation of the August-Hermann-Francke-Schule in 1988, a christian educational concept is a fixed component of school life. Christian biblical values become valid in teaching and education. Thus, students can develop self-esteem and a personality influenced by the christian faith. They can use these gifts when they associate with fellow humans. To develop ourselves in this regard, we maintain exchanges and cooperation with other schools and institutions for some time already. We did not want to limit our network only in Germany, but early we had an exchange with a Kenyan and later with a Dutch school. We want to expand this exchange/ interaction to Bulgaria and other European countries. This educational goal (christian personality) takes place in individual educational concepts (eg. reading promotion, talent program). These should be developed constantly.One defining feature of our educational mission is to work closely with the parents of our school. This is reflected by regular contacts, home visits and educational counselling. Various working groups support this educational work and want to develop it constantly. Therefore, it fits into our concept to expand our horizons by seeking exchanges with other European schools and their educational concepts, coupled with the opportunity to learn from them. Thereby we want to keep the curricula of our partner countries in mind, which often have standards and definitions different from Germany. In teams with staff members of our school the findings and suggestions from the visits of the partner schools should be presented, discussed and reviewed in order to decide to what extent we can benefit from it in our school program work. In the next 2 years a total of eight teachers should spend time on practical school reform/development through contact with European Schools and with different aims. The mobility schemes described in the application expand the knowledge and planning of the individual teacher and schools.
