Work-related accidents are a very serious problem in the world and Turkey . Work-related accidents leads thousands of people to die,be disabled and severe economis losses. Although problem of work-related accidents are common in all countries, the rate of accidents may be reduced in particular by taking the necessary measures together. The countries which don’t take these measures more affected by the accidents.Work-related accidents are very important because of the social and economic consequences in Turkey . In our country, 74 000 accidents occur per year ; 1152 workers lose their lives as a result , 1888 employees are maimed for life. In our country, the annual cost of occupational accidents is around 40 Billion TL.%98 of work-related accidents and all occupational diseases are avoidable. ( TUIK, 2014) According to the data of International Labour Organisation (ILO ) and the World Health Organization (WHO ) , Turkey is the first place in the ranking of realization of occupational accidents among European countries and in the third place in the ranking of occupational accidents among developing countries.In our province, workplace environment measurements have been carried out in the vocational and technical education schools and institutions and as a result ,it has been found out once again that students and workers need to learn occupational health and safety precautions, build awareness and culture.Edirne Province National Education Directorate ,as a coordinator,has planned a KA1 Mobility Project for VET Learners and Staff with the 7 consortium partner institutions and the project is designed for the 52 saff who work in Electrical -Electronics- IT, Metal Works and the Health departments to do jobshadowing on Occupational Health and SafetyMobilities will be held in March,April and May for 14 days(including travelling) in Germany, Sweden and Spain. The abilities that we want our project participants to gain after the job shadowing are the following;- To understand the European dimension in vocational education and be acquainted with colleagues in Europe ,- Be motivated in their careers ,- Gain tolerance for differences,- Increase cross-cultural social skills ,- Increase interest in and willingness to learn the European language ,- Understand the importance of lifelong learning strengths and their principles- be the one who adopt the ideas of minorities and the democracy and develop solutions to facilitate people with disabilities.-co-operate with the school management and individuals to cearte a safe working environmentAs a result of job shadowing education on Occupational Health and Safety,participants will increase the knowledge,skills,perspectives and they will be experts on the subject in our region and country. In addition, all vocational schools in our city will gain awareness and the safety measures will be at the highest level.The expected effects on the European dimension of our project, our teachers should contact with European colleagues and peers, develop new project ideas, have encouragement to adapt good practices and have motivation for foreign language learning.In order to evaluate all the project outcomes, all the results of project activities will be collected and put together in a evaluation report on the occupational health and safety.The outputs of the project will be used in the scope of dissemination activities to reach more people.Our methodology in the implementation of this project will consist of the following stages:- Detection of current occupational safety and health situation in our institutions. -Detection of problems in the sector-Preperations- Job-shadowing/Mobility- The implementation of projects and sharing benefitsThe benefits of this project in the long term;-Our project will create awareness towards occupational health and safety in whole city and all vocational institutions will take the highest level safety measures, there will ne no longer risks for occupational diseases and accidents at work in the coming years.-The Provincial Directorate of National Education will gain our safety department experience, safety training in schools and businesses will be more efficient, it will produce a router solutions. -In our city, Provincial labor office, the Provincial Directorate of National Education,Provincial Health Administration and AFAD coordination offices will work together in coming years by carrying out vocational occupational health measures for students in vocational high schools.
