Merge the Cultures With Dialogue

The aim of our training course is to value the impact of intercultural dialog and enhence the dialogue, promote diversity and strengthen the ability of participants regarding empathy and understanding. The aim of this project is to create an interaction among the young people coming from different countries that have concerns about each other because of the cultural differences and to contribute in the elimination of prejudices. At this point, the aim is to develop the respect towards others by creating an opportunity for the participants to get to know closer diverse cultures. Our project meets those needs of the participants. The youth/youth workers that come together due to this project, had the chance to present their culture as well as get to know other cultures closer. Besides, by the means of inter-cultural communication,they experienced the ways of finding common agreements, communication with other cultures. Also, the participants gained new abilities in diverse topics and developed existing skills. Our objectives are; ? To Enhance dialogue, understanding, compassion and tolerance among people of diverse religious faiths, cultures and races between Turkey, EU,Middle East, Balkans and Caucasus countries; ? To identify similarities and differences between different cultural traditions and perceptions; ? To provide a forum where all cultures and faiths can meet to learn about each other and discuss matters of common concern in a spirit of mutual respect and understanding; ? To promote intercultural dialogue and values of Human Rights; ? To develop participants skills on dealing with conflict transformation; ? To provide effective tools to use in youth for work for conflict transformation; ? To share best practices particularly in the areas of intercultural dialogue, the democratic management of social diversity and the promotion of social cohesion; ? To empower young people to promote, in their daily lives, cultural diversity as well as intercultural dialogue and co-operation; In the training course we used methods of Non formal Education such as simulation, working in small groups, peer to peer education/learning, role play and out door(local) activities in order to understand and promote intercultural dialogue for conflict transformation. Training course will gather 20 youth workers, facilitators/trainers and volunteers from Germany, Hungary, Spain, France, Macedonia, Croatia and Turkey to meet in Istanbul at Sultanahmet district between February 23d - March 2nd, 2015.
