Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

IES Cayetano Sempere is a school offering Secondary Education and Vocational Training studies with 91 teachers and 926 students situated close to the city centre of Elche, a city with a large flow of tourists. Our students come from different social backgrounds and different countries, such as South America and North Africa, and they make up a 10 per cent of the students of the school. Moreover, we also deal with some ethnic minorities, especially gipsies. This integration is a cornerstone of the school's identity. Also, our school is involved in many innovative and educational quality projects. Most recent in which we are engaged is the Plurilingual Project, for which we will seek to combine the learning of at least four languages: Spanish, Valencian, English and French. There are a number of reasons for the present project:- Our commitment to successfully develop those programs of innovation and quality as well as the Plurilingual Project. - The necessity to address the existing shortcomings in our school such as school dropout and failure.- Because of a group of teachers with entrepreneurial spirit and desire to improve their school environment such as the eleven selected participants.Consequently, the participants who have been selected to participate are teachers of the subjects affected by the Plurilingual Project: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Information Technology, which involves the use of English as the common language. Some of the teachers are already participating in these programs and others are expected to incorporate them in the next academic year. There is a Technology teacher interested in improving his own digital skills, those of the students and the rest of the teachersThere are also two English teachers who are already involved in the eTwinning platform, as well as in the exchange of students with a school in Germany and a school in Sweden derived from a KA2 Project. One of them is also advising and promoting different experiences and diverse mini-projects that are being implemented in our school. The activities included in this project are structured courses. The structured courses are focused on the improvement of the communicative competence in English and digital skills of the participants, and on the internationalization of the teachers' knowledge and therefore, of the school. The aim of these courses is to improve different aspects of the education and training process of our students such as the encouragement, motivation and involvement, to improve teaching techniques, creation of new materials and activities, the improvement of measures for dealing with diversity and the reduction of the dropout rate. The participating teachers have been selected by the Selection Committee. The courses have also been selected according to their content, relevance, duration and location. Regarding the impact of the project, we believe that it will not only affect the 11 teachers who will see their communciative competence in another language improved and will receive innovative teacher training , but also the rest of the teachers of the school, with whom this new knowledge will be shared. It will also affect students, who will be the main beneficiaries of the application of these new approaches and, therefore , also the entire school community in the short, medium and long term.To ensure this impact, we will conduct different informative and evaluation activities to publicize and evaluate the project . These activities aim to inform the other members of the educational community in various ways : through powerpoint presentations to all the school teachers , through department meetings and meetings with the teachers involved , through the production of notice boards and files to collect the materials, through news on the web, the school blogand also in the local media. An exchange of experiences will also be made with other schools in the city and with the European contacts we have achieved during the courses, and we will attend Eramus+ meetings to share our experience. With these contacts, we would like to agree future collaborative projects. As for the evaluation, various activities such as satisfaction questionnaires on the courses or assessment by the students on the new strategies implemented will be made. Finally, we would like to highlight the great benefit that this project will mean for our school. Thanks to these actions and those arising from new contacts, we will expand European awareness not only in students but also in teachers, we will motivate and improve the quality of teachers and students and will activate life in the school.
