During the youth exchange "Heroes" in Estonia 32 young people in the age of 13 to 15 and three group leaders are going to meet in summer 2016. The participants come from Estonia, Germany, and Greece. Some of them from Greece and Germany have Estonian roots. The project aims to discuss with young people about issues and human rights related to cultural diversity and to think about those young people' s issues of identity, whose parents have different cultural backgrounds. As well the projects asks about the role youth may play to change the society in a more tolerant way. The project will be completed on these topics in the short film created by young people. This process on the one hand develops young people's digital competence, and encourages other young people to initiate youth exchanges and participate in these on the other hand.In the previous stage of the youth exchange participants are preparing the video recording, which presents their vision of cultural diversity. During the exchange programme the methods used are non-formal and involve young people, in some cases young participants themselves are in charge of leading the workshops. During the youth exchange different kinds of workshops, excursions and meetings with specialists will be held. Participants are introduced about the opportunities of youthpass. This exchange programme will be the first international experience for some of the participating young people. The youth exchange also facilitates parents of participating young people knowledge about Estonia what may develop their trust in Estonia. In the long run young people strengthen their connection with Estonia and will come back to their homeland. During the project special attention is paid to transparent management (meetings, continuous feedback, advanced planning visit with partners), and to the involvement of young people at each stage, the project ensures the safety of young people in full (contact persons, participants' parents written permission and agreements, emergency numbers and other necessary contacts, etc.).
