The project MEETing aims to meet the needs of students of IPSEOA Cervia vocational school, in particular: increase training opportunities in a European country, in order to acquire the necessary skills to enter the world of work and seize job opportunities abroad; understand the cultural diversity as opportunities for personal growth; reduce the school dropout rate: through participation in paths such as Erasmus Plus, which make teaching more attractive and allow the meeting with young people of other nationalities and a socialization that lasts over the time; fostering inclusion: the participation of students with Special Needs and Handicaps, favors the inclusion of these subjects, first they can take part in this experience thanks to the European Community, which provides economic resources, second they may experience in an environment away from the family, their own potential, dealing with students from other nationalities and through this fact, increase the self-esteem and foresee a safe entry into the working world; increase motivation and generate re-motivation: students in internships in Europe play a double role, they are trained and trainers at the same time, because they acquire professional skills, but they are also ambassadors of the high level in the field of Italian food and beverage management and in tourist reception; improving language skills, knowledge and the development of the European dimension, with the enrichment of a curriculum vitae through certifications expendable in the working world. The reflections and the surveys made by the project team, led to state that the satisfaction of these needs can be realized in the European dimension, through collaboration with the Hotel School of Prague. A series of experiences between the School of Cervia and the Czech School held in recent years through meetings and cooperation, made this choice possible, especially regarding the international setting of the receiving context (presence of a central Mitteleuropean culture, hotels and restaurants run by international teams, international language skills, openness to culture from other countries, demand of Made in Italy, ability to inclusion). The Project consists of the following stages: Planning: provides for the establishment of the working group and its formation (team: Laura Giovanardi, Roberta Vicchi, Anella Di Santi), contacts with the European partner, drafting, dissemination, promotion of the project; identification of the criteria for participation, selection of participants; language training, cultural and technical capacity; planning activities of combined experiences of school and work training at the Czech school- company. Mobility is aimed at students attending the fourth year of IPSEOA Cervia. The project duration is two years, from 1st June 2015 to 31st May 2017. For each year there will be two streams: 16 students with 2 teachers per group, for the presence of two students with disabilities per group. School and work training provides the experience of alternating school and work at the Hotel-restaurant-reception-pastry-teaching managed by the School of Prague, through a training course of 15 days. Follow-up: the experience of the project should have an impact on students, not just those directly involved, but also on those who remained at school. The actors of the project will be a stimulus to the other students, encouraging them to get involved, to want also to try to learn skills in a dimension that is not local. The creation of a network between local, regional and European schools, will make the experience known and above all, cultures will join, motivating to working mobility and to recognize Eastern Europe as a cultural and economic resource. It will also allow to internationalize the Made in Italy, considered by Europeans as the excellence in the field of food and wine and will break the Italian resistance to approach to foreign languages, such as English. Dissemination: This phase includes promotion, information for students, parents, future enrollments, teachers, school staff, associations, companies, partners through dissemination tools: Facebook page, newspaper articles on the local press; conferences; workshops; CV database; Linkedlin. Assessment and certification: progress will be assessed ongoing through monitoring: business tutor-student-school tutor, sharing posts on Social Network (Twitter, Facebook), e-mail. To complete the project, results and progress in achieving objectives, will be issued by the partner through the Europass Mobility and the certificate of internship.
