Meeting Cultures Between the Lines

The MCBL consists of the following main actions: "Mobility & visibility of writers & translators": Through this, an exchange of writers and translators from different cultural backgrounds will be facilitated, by initiating an interaction process and bringing them in close cooperation; presenting them and the results of their cooperation to the local community of Palestine by organizing educational visits to schools/universities. Also, a meeting will be held in Sofia on the topic, "Cultural & Language Diversity", in order to bring together in public dialogue representatives from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Cyprus and Palestine. A web community, an interactive website a forum and a communication network will be created and put into operation. Additionally, a recipients' list for the dissemination of newsletters, invitations etc. will be drawn and the news of MCBL will broadcast weekly on the radio. For the International student contest "Young people in motion" the following will be done: designation of Committees for each partner; choice of the Subject (a value that people share worldwide and troubles societies in general) that will constitute the main axis of the Writing Contest and the Symposium; determination of students' contest terms; production and dissemination of informational material; Press Conferences; realization of students' competition; evaluation of essays by the committees; translation of winning essays in the partners' languages and in English; publication of a multi-lingual edition. A Symposium, "In-Value-Able Cultural Crossroads", will be organized in Rhodes for the young winners of the youth contest where they can interact and share experiences from their countries. Finally, the winning contestants will be announced during a Public Event -the publication will be presented and theatrical readings of the translated work from the first action will be staged (Arabic-Bulgarian, Arabic-Greek, Arabic-Serbian, Arabic-Romanian).
