Date du début: 15 août 2014, Date de fin: 14 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This youth exchange aimed to bring a group of youths together in order to take a look at the various reasons that can lead to conflicts ensuing as well as to discuss and brainstorm different solutions to lessen the amount of conflicts that break out. In doing this, we took the opportunity to voice our own opinions and take a more active role in society. We discussed how conflicts on a social, national, regional and international level affect us and how we can come together to counteract the negative effects of such conflicts. Thirty-Eight young persons and youth leaders (coming from 8 different countries) spent seven days in Malta living together and participating in several workshops that made use of the non-formal method of education. The participants came from the EU countries of Malta, France, Spain, the pre-accession country of Turkey and mediterranean partner countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine. The activities carried out during the main activity of the exchange include group work, role-plays, brain-storming sessions and outings. The group which (as indicated above) was composed of youngsters coming from very different backgrounds discussed the various similarities and differences that exist between the respective mediterranean countries, the different issues that we face in our everyday lives, how they are currently dealt with and how they can be dealt with. The participants also be shared examples of good practices in combating conflict. This project was be carried out with the scope of spreading the message that if we work together rather than against each other, we are more likely to reap benefits. We are sharing the results of our project within our peer groups and networks. We hope that our project can lead to a healthier society which will make use of more peaceful methods of communication to resolve conflicts.
