Mediterranean Building Rethinking for Energy Efficiency Improvement (MARIE) (MARIE)

MARIE aims to establish the socio-economic conditions for Energy Efficiency (EE) improvement in the MED. Building Stock in the framework of EU policy objectives, overcoming barriers and creating sustainable development opportunities in the MED region. Pil Achievements: State of the art of project implementation since the project startMARIE activities since the project start are concentrated especially in achieve 6 main groups outputs and results: - ORGANIZATION: Start up and consolidate main unities: Steering Committee, WP Coordinator team, Advisory and Scientific Group activities and assessment. - MANAGEMENT: Improve the certification procedures and the economic management of the project. - COMMUNICATION: Prepare the Communication plan and activate the Associated Partners Platform - COMMITMENTS: Consolidate RIG, Network of Clusters and policy commitments with EC - DIAGNOSTIC : Conclude a first level of integrated diagnostic (RBA) - DEMONSTRATION: Start up pilot activitiesLatest project activities and outputs- Produce a first draft of MEDBEE Strategy with 14 strategic measures that will be tested during 2013. Using MEDBEES to produce in collaboration with ELIH MED, the Policy Paper named -Improving MED transnational cooperation answers to Energy Efficiency chNext key steps for the projectMARIE next steps can be summarized in 3 main aspects: - Reach an optimal economic management through an overall review of the budget facilitating their execution for all the 23 partners. - Prepare the 2nd MEDBEE Forum in Brussels (November 2012) in order to optimize the relationship with EU Commission and with ELIH MED and Proforbiomed projects creating a capitalization board related to projects dealing with energy efficiency of buildings improvement - Conduct MARIE pilot activities
