The international youth exchange "MediAware" is a project organized by the YMCA Parthenope ONLUS. It will take place in Poggio Mirteto Scalo, a lovely city 70 km away from Rome, in the Centre of Italy. The exchange will take place from 11 to 18 june 2016 and it will involve 6 partner promoters from Italy,Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Poland and Republic of Macedonia. There will be 36 participants from 6 groups, each of them will be formed by four participants aged 14-19; each group of young people will be supported by two leaders, seen the special care needed by the kids with special needs and/or underaged participants. The themes of the exchange are Disabilty Media & Communication/Intercultural Learning as our objectives are:-Increase the Awareness of young people about how they use web and social networks.-Promote safe and responsible surfing on the Web.-Share basic knowledge about photo and video shooting.-Increase their knowledge of foreign languages.-Learn to express ourselves more and better trought the use of Media.-Increase the quality of interactions between yougsters in the digital world.-Develop skills in IT and new medias in order to increase our employability-Inform participants about further local and European opportunities.-Use innovative non-formal educational methodolgies for the young learners.We will use methodologies of non-formal education as "Learning by doing" and "Peer to Peer". We will hold workshops, lectures, work in large and small groups, share our knowledge and experiences about media, do indoor and outdoor activities and cultural presentations. Our group are youngsters curious and open to learn about the topics. They will be involved in every phase of the project, from the local preparation untill the sharing of the results once they will be back home from the exchange. At the end of the program, participants, with the support of the organizers, will create a public event to increase the awareness about the relationship between youth and media, promoting therefore new behaviors based on respect and safety.
