Dublin North East Community Communications considers EVS as a very useful device in building Europe and can accommodate young motivated coming from other countries looking to experience an active participation in the context of a community development and media structure. The European integration is at the core of our partnership project. We want to learn how other organisations work and the best way to do so it is by involving a person who already have that experience and can bring new ideas, synergies and experience from an organisation doing similar work in Europe. The objectives of the project are for the volunteer: To take part in the organisation activities according to their capacities and interest. This will be facilitated through formal, non-formal and informal training. To acquire fluency in English language and to learn specific terms used in the media and community sector. Language skills and experience in Ireland should enhance employability and career prospects. To be able to engage in projects as part of a team, bringing new ideas and approaches. To experience an transcultural workplace along side vision impaired, people with disabilities and from different ethnic origin. To engage with community/voluntary/non-governmental organisations through the organisations activites and to promote community development and active citizenship among these groups. To exchange daily experiences with other volunteers and members of staff as to broaden the perception of the European project. To evaluate and feedback on the activities they are taking part to facilitate positive change in the training and working processes, procedures and activities of the organisation. This experience has enabled the volunteer to explore different cultures, receive extensive training in a real workplace (ICT, community development, team activities, etc) has given him the chance to engage in a dynamic project in a different environment and the possibility to improve English fluency and to learn technical language associated to the sector. Aiert will be starting a twelve-months job placement with a sister organisation in Germany It was an experience in formal, non-formal and informal learning very useful in many aspects of their lives, as some of the skills, such as ICT, language, community development and communications are lifelong skills that can be progressed with further experience or/and training
