MEDEA2020 - Media and Learning: Exploiting European Know-How
Date du début: 1 nov. 2010,

MEDEA2020 is a dissemination and exploitation project that will exploit existing know-how and experience in the use of media in education and training in Europe. It responds to a growing pressure to provide more relevant and attractive learning opportunities to citizens through the use of ICT in general and media in particular. It addresses a problem whereby there are an increasing number of 'pockets' of expertise, however accessing these is not always easy. MEDEA2020 builds on the experience of the MEDEA Awards which have emerged as a unique forum where excellent examples of media-based learning resources are peer-reviewed and celebrated with the aim of promoting good practice. These awards are growing and attracted over 250 entries from 39 countries in 2009. It will also build on the MEDEA:EU project which has enhanced the European nature of these awards and extended their impact to a wider European community. MEDEA2020 outcomes include: an expanded network of partners in all European countries exchanging information and expertise; five hands-on workshops subsequently summarised on video and published online; a significant online community of practice and an online searchable resource base of relevant materials. They will include awards to recognise European Collaboration and special topics in 2011 and 2012, two annual European high-profile conferences on the general topic of Media and Learning and the establishment of the MEDEA Foundation ensuring the ongoing viability of the MEDEA community. The impact of MEDEA2020 will be to heighten awareness amongst the European community of education and training practitioners as to the value of media in learning, to raise the levels of skill amongst the same community by providing access to resources, expertise and inspirational examples, to enthuse and motivate practitioners about the use of media and to raise awareness and know-how amongst policy makers about trends, developments and practice in this area.
