Master in Photonics Engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics
Date du début: 15 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 14 sept. 2019 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Objective The Europhotonics Master programme aims at giving an extensive two‐year teaching program focusing on advanced research and applied topics in Optics/Photonics and related fields. Course durationTwo years (120 ECTS)Brief DescriptionThe Europhotonics Master covers one of the most expanding fields in physics and material sciences, dealing with the control, manipulation and monitoring of light and its interactions with matter. The students start in Marseille (Aix‐ Marseille Université) for the 1st semester. Then different mobilities are proposed for the 2nd semester (Marseille or Karlsruhe (KIT)) and for the 3rd semester (Marseille, Barcelona (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Institute of Photonic Sciences) or KIT). The 4th semester is devoted to the Master Thesis. During the Master course, the students follow lectures on theoretical, experimental and applied topics focusing in particular on Photonics engineering, Nanophotonics and Biophotonics. The content of the courses has been defined in order to be in close connection with the most recent research/industrial developments in Optics/Photonics. The content of the courses can be modified in order to propose an up‐to‐date teaching program to the students. A particular attention is brought to the personal work. The students also participate in an annual workshop (Spring School) where they can meet researchers, engineers, coordinators of clusters for preparing their job insertion.Career prospectsThe Master students benefiting from this programme will be able to work on today's new challenges in their academic or applied research carriers: understanding and control matter and optical phenomena at the ultimate nanometric scale, providing new imaging tools for the most complex biological processes from cells and tissues to clinical applications, bringing original tools in line with future optical devices. An international experienceThe language of instruction of this programme is English. A number of EU-funded scholarships are offered to the best qualified candidates.DiplomaEurophotonics is based on a multiple diploma scheme. At the end of the 2‐years program, the students obtain the Master diplomas of the Universities where they have spent at least one semester.Website: http://www.europhotonics.org
