Master in International Sport Tourism Management
Date du début: 1 oct. 2009,

The idea of the Master in International Sport Tourism Management (MISTOUR) is born during conversations noting a lack of specific qualification in sport tourism and its relations with local sustainable development. In the same time, Sport tourism sectors (Being actor or spectator) are developing very quickly during the last years and recent researches of the International Work Organization focused on the positive effect of sport events on the sustainable local development in the frame of “decent work” (di Cola et al., 2008).The MISTOUR is organized by a consortium of 2 Romanian Universities (Craiova and Iasi), 1 Greek (Trikala), 1 Portuguese (Maia, Porto), 1 Czech Rep. (Praha), 1 French (Lille) with 1 Croatian (Zagreb) and 1 Lebanese (Balamand, Tripoli) as associate partners, to develop a multiple Master Degree. All the current partners of the consortium have a long practice of international relationship, both in teaching and research. An international group of researches dedicated to sport tourism will be created, linked to the laboratory of social and human sciences of Lille (ER3S, EA 4110) leaded by Pr. Claude SOBRY.The selection of students is done by academics and professionals. NTIC will be used to organize an international jury (e-interviews). The 20 selected students will spend 1 semester in Lille, 1 either in Porto or in Trikala, and possibly in Praha, depending of the year. Lectures are in English. During the 4th semester the traineeship is performed abroad in a 4th country. The teachers and speakers will be chosen among the best specialists of sport tourism, not only among the consortium partners. High specialization is our ambition with 30% of the teaching done by professionals. Each partner has a dedicated administrative member and a referent teacher who participate to the meetings to develop and finalize the project in 2009-2010, and to launch and coordinate the first academic year beginning in September 2010.
