PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project context of Mask of Conflict III started by the completion of a previous project called CONTEST, a multilateral GRUNDTVIG that brought together partners from several European countries in the development of new methodologies for working with conflict (prevention, resolution and transformation) and its accessibility for anyone who might benefit from it. From that motivation comes our proposal to involve new organizations working in youth through Erasmus + by exploiting the methodology of Living Theatre and opening a space for experimenting with it and develop the partners’ competence in conflict management. From that Mask of Conflict (Spain) was a successful TC, Mask of Conflict II approved in Ireland, and it has now been developed into Mask of Conflict III here in Greece. The project objectives are set at two levels. At political and strategic level: 1) To explore the potential of Living Theatre as a tool for self-discovery and professional development and creativity2)To give the youth workers the skills and competences to tackle deep rooted conflictual issues3)To give the tools to European youth workers and European trainers that will enable them to reach out to young people who are marginalised by society, to help them in their critical thinking skills, learn the language of emotional intelligence and self expression4) To promote diversity, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue promoting common values of freedom, tolerance and respect of human rights.5) To support participants in the process of understanding the dynamics of conflict in the field of KA1 projects. 6) Facilitate the exchange of experiences among participants regarding the mechanisms of conflict from their respective organizations. 7) Encourage the internationalization of organizations implementing projects within Erasmus + with youth and developing their ability to cooperate with other organizations in Europe. The learning goals are: a) To develop the social competence of the participants and especially their ability to resolve conflicts and promote self-awareness as individuals and their responsibility as professionals working with young people. b) Improve participants’ skills to empathise with others with whom they may be in conflict. c) Develop participants’ ability to facilitate educational activities through the Theatre Experience. d) Develop participants’ emotional competence and their assertiveness in conflict situations. e) Develop participants’ language skills in English language as standard language work on Erasmus + projects abroad.About the profile of the participants. We will host 26 people (21 participants, 2 trainers + 3 staff members) all youth workers. The average age is 30 years, having participants aged between 25 & 50 years old or more.As for the activities and methodology: the project activities generally involve sessions where theatre, improvisation, reflection on that experience and the development of working groups with subsequent discussion is the basic flow. Performing short activation games in the morning and reflection groups in the afternoon, after the last session, complete the set of techniques to be realized in the MASK OF CONFLICT III. The overall methodology is based on non-formal education itself and in particular for major sessions on conflict management it has developed Living Theatre methodology adapted by the team to an educational and pedagogical context. The project results have:1) Creation of a new training curriculum.2) The development of a set of RECOMMENDATIONS with regard to youth policies that course participants understand relevant towards the development of these specific skills of youth workers.3) The development of a project video summary.4) Creating a blog on the Internet where visibility of the project, the results achieved and a description of the training curriculum will be accessible.5) The improvement of participants ‘skills to manage conflict;6) The development of listening skills, empathy, assertiveness and communication and improving cultural competence and linguistics in English. In terms of impact and long-term benefits: Locally, the acquisition of new skills by the participants to work effectively, with greater certainty where conflict management is concerned. The impact at regional and national level will consist of the multiplication of this learning by participants to other professionals in the field of youth work in Europe. The international impact is given by the international cooperation of the participants through the creation of new European projects with Erasmus +.
