Market Freedoms and Human Rights in the EU
Date du début: 1 sept. 2015, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

After violent breaches of human rights in recent history, causing deep cuts in society, the protection of the human rights was the essential element of the Constitution of B&H. The market freedoms are a part of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Constitutional Court of B&H decided early on to interpret the constitutional market freedoms of B&H in the light of the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU). The market freedoms are one of the most important part of the Stabilization and Association Agreement. The analysis, understanding and promotion of these legal sources are of particular importance for the students, scientist, practitioners, as well as for the civil society in the pre-accession stage of B&H. In the current curricula there is no course dealing with the protection of human rights in the EU. The current curricula does not cover the aspects of coherence and collision of the market freedoms and the human rights of the EU, what is intended to be the one of the main subjects of the proposed course. The new course will use teaching methods which are not yet applied at the University of Zenica. It is expected that such methodology will inspire and influence other courses at the University of Zenica. It will give the opportunity to research, discuss and present topics in foreign languages, foremost English, but also in German. There are yet no courses in the curricula at the University of Zenica which are offered in foreign languages in any field of law. The impact of the course will be promoted via internet, electronic and print media. Materials of the course will be summarized in a student book. Due to the relevance and the wide scope of the subject, a publication of materials is of great importance as it will be the first book on this subject in B&H. Acknowledged experts from the EU will be invited as guest professors in order to contribute to internationalization and promotion of the course.
