Managing and conserving forests for multiple values

The project's goal is to provide students, and other participants, with a broad and comprehensive understanding of forest resources, issues, opportunities, and approaches for managing forests for a broad range of values (conservation, ecological services, aesthetics, recreation, timber/fibre production, non-timber forest products, and others) and to better equip students with the skills needed to practice sustainable forest management.This project will support the mobility of 51 EU and 51 Canadian students - 21 EU and 21 Canadian students will participate in longterm placements of one or two semesters.30 EU and 30 Canadian students will be involved in 3 week intensive field based sessions. For EU Faculty 3 faculty exchanges of 3 weeks duration are planned. For Canadian Faculty 3 faculty exchanges of 3 weeks durationare also planned. These faculty exchanges will likely involve one faculty member from each institution.
