The Exchange Activity will take place in Alter do Chão , located in the premises belonging to the National Stud, where there is an umbilical link with the history of the Lusitano horse. This group participates in a number of sporting activities where you will explore together with young people - through the practice of riding, but also of study, reflection and debate - the influence that sport can take on well-being, personal development and social integration of young people. Will be explored topics such as: healthy living, experience, adventure, team spirit, social inclusion, competition, concentration, focus, and how these themes are present in different dimensions of life, school, work, family and social life. The approach will be made through group dynamics and participatory methodologies in which the participantes will have the opportunity to discover and autonomously intervene directly in decisions regarding the project. The activities will have as global objectives: i) provide everyone involved to participate in a sporting activity in a context favoring positive engagement;ii) offer participants an opportunity to increase the understanding of other cultures and countries;iii) foster awareness of the attitudes and skills whose development is favored by the practice of sport;iv) provide knowledge about the Purebred Lusitano Horse and it's inception. As a result of the exchange, we hope to contribute to competence-enhancing of the participants, their personal development, self-esteem and motivation to actively participate in the community, as well as to increase the knowledge of foreign languages and the openness to interculturalism. At the level of organizations, we hope to provide teams knowledge, skills and contacts that may enhance development of their organizations and the establishment of European and international partnerships in their area of work. Through the publication and dissemination of the project results, our expectation is that more similar opportunities for young people will be created as well as other measures to promote sporting activity and interculturalism as tools for social integration.
