Making Mathematics More Attractive

Both educational institutions have an objective to match the curriculum offer to the students’ needs in the European background with no linguistic barriers in institutional cooperation and interpersonal communication. This partnership focuses on stimulating the students’ creativity and motivation for studying mathematics though some didactic techniques based on putting into practice the theoretical elements of the above mentioned subject. On the occasion of the previous contacts between partners the need of having a store of didactic and methodological resources accessible to all teachers and students was emphasized. The target of the partners is an exchange of opinions and experiences in the field of teaching, learning and evaluating during the math classes as well as finding and experimenting mathematical models, subsequently used by the teachers and students in both countries with the view to make the activities of teaching-learning and evaluating more efficient. The SWOT analysis of this common problem has proved that the most effective background is the Comenius bilateral partnership which allows to deal with the weak points: the differences in the national curricula and resources, both from the point of view of the quantity, the quality and the threats (the linguistic barrier). This is the major opportunity to improve the didactic activity by bringing into relief the needs expressed by the students and the teachers' professional competencies as the strong points of this approach.
