Making Education More Artful: Music - Dance - Visual Arts

Eight organizers from five countries, five of them new to Culture Programme, meet to MAKE EDUCATION MORE ARTFUL in their interdisciplinary project of Music, Dance and Visual Arts: EduMEMA.The involvement of Cyprus and Turkey to work with Central EU countries shall bring new cultural, artistic and geographical perspectives to its concept.EduMEMA connects CULTURAL organizations from EDUCATIONAL (Konservatorium Wien AT, and Mimar Sinan TR Universities), EXECUTIVE (Košice - European Capital of Culture 2013, Impresariat Prague), LEGAL (Municipalities of Poprad SK and Larnaka CY) and ARTISTIC (Tatra Gallery SK, Anadolu Ateşi TR ) backgrounds.EduMEMA's artistic mission is to contribute to a fuller Understanding of Arts via stronger Art Education. Theme: „Authentic“ or „Fake“, „Period“ or „Modern“?.. - Dogmatic or Ecumenical? shall lead to contextual verifications of the European Cultural Heritage.Interaction between various artistic domains (cultural heritage, performing and visual arts, architecture) and 12 activities travelling to the participating countries (music, dance, photography, exhibitions, composition for EU, 'classical' street festival, master classes & lectures & round-tables, cultural touristic talks, fringe) is underlined by the artistic and academic referees and guarantors/ artists and professors from across Europe: Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Milan Turković, AT, Sergio Azzolini, IT, Jan Šibík CZ, Y. Murat Şen TR, Helena Kazárová, CZ, Michael Posch, AT, Giorgos Karvellos CY, Miloš Valent SK etc.Duration 24 months (June 2011 - May 2013), budget 412 410,00 €, grant requested 198 305,00 €.Outreach countries: SK, CY, AT, TR, CZ, PL, HU, DE, FR, IT, NL, BE, ES, GR, GB, EE, LT, LV.Target groups: wide public and specialized audiences, university students of art disciplines, young professionals, art teachers on all levels, cultural staff and workers on various institutional levels, 'cultural tourists' from EU.More Education - More Arts!
