MakE StudentS Addiction-frEe
Date du début: 1 oct. 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This project emerges from the fact that certain addiction types, substance abuse, alcohol, smoke, drug etc. ; screen addiction; internet, games, social networks etc. and food addiction adversely affects students and prevent them having a healthy and successful life. Students with addictions have difficulty in sustaining a successful education life, besides they can’t maintain a healthy life and improve characteristics features healthfully. They can’t use their abilities and talents in creative and positive ways and they lose interest healthy social and extra-curricular activities. Eventually these addictions types can lead to truancy and dropping out of school. The consequences of early school leaving are very serious both on an individual and a global level. The main aim of this project is to detect students at risk of addiction in a very early stage. In order to achieve this aim, we will produce a methodology to diagnose the inclination for addiction at students and a guide book to help parents and teachers fight against addiction. There are totally 6 partners taking part in this project. These are: - Bursa İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü, a local authority on educational issues from Turkey is the coordinator of the project. - Szczecinska Szkola Wyzsza Collegium Balticum, a university from Poland. - Agrupamento de Escolas de Penalva do Castelo, a high school from Portugal. - Colegiul National, a high school from Romania. The applicant organisation, Bursa MEM will be responsible for coordinating the project and managing the budget. Bursa MEM will also have a chance to observe and to steer the progress of pilot application of project outputs for students, parents and teachers of the other partner from Turkey. COLEEGIUM BALTICUM will be responsible for producing the outputs of the project. (O2, O3, O4) The other partners (high schools) will be responsible for applying the outputs of project on students, teachers and parents at school. The methodology we will produce with this project will be accessible for everyone through the website. Thus, any organisation can use it as a tool in the fight against any kind of addiction. Everybody knows that, for a good cure, we need to diagnose the disease first. Project outputs can be considered as a diagnostic tool for addiction. We will upload all the outputs to the project website in English and in each partner's main language. Therefore, it will gain national and international impact by providing a wide accessibility to the outputs of project. Developing a method for addiction prevention can be useful and beneficial for every educational and youth organisation. It is crucial to interfere students in an early stage of acquiring addiction in order to prevent it. If we can decrease the rate of addiction, it will be good in many aspects of education. Addiction is one of the reasons for failure of students at school. We can also consider addiction as a reason for early school drop. The methodology we intend to develop with this project will be a tool for pedagogues in the partner organisations as well as any other educational or youth organisation. With a reliable detection system we aim to create, we can make students addiction-free and direct them other positive activities and they can have more successful and healthy educational as well as social life. Achievement of this aim will make the organisations more peaceful and successful.
