The youth exchange "Magic Hands - Sharing Arts (East Edition)" will take place in Sumy, Ukraine and last 9 days. The theme of the youth exchange is cultural diversity and cultural identity shown through different hand-made crafts promoting tolerance tolerance, mutual understanding and integration. The aim of the youth exchange is to share different types of local handmade introduced in the countries of participants. The objectives of the youth exchange are: to promote cultural diversity among the participants of the youth exchange; to share cultures of participants through exchanging skills of making handcrafts between the participants; to promote active participation through organizing event for local families introducing useful way of spending time together in a family circle through participation in the hand-made workshops organized by participants. The project will involve 36 young people 18-25 y.o. from 6 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Ukraine). The methodology of the youth exchange is based on the methods of non-formal learning, intercultural and experiential learning. The programme will be structured on the principles of active participation. Within the programme of the exchange will be: integration activities, simulation activities, workshops organized by the national groups showing local hand-made crafts and teaching each other in making in it, workshops organized by local craft-makers introducing local crafts. As the result of the youth exchange the participant will organize an event for local families. Within the event the participants will conduct workshops for families in different crafts which they learned to make. By this event the project will promote the idea of the European Year 2014 for Reconciling work and family life. The Applicant organization Center for European initiatives is a hosting partner in the project.
