Nowadays in Europe storytelling is very important topic. It includes very different subjects, besides pedagogics and community culture, storytelling is pointed out as only possible way to create empathic, tolerant, peaceful and creative community. MTÜ Jutumaja is public organization. It's goal is to preserve storytelling tradition and oral folklore, keep it alive and contemporary. MTÜ Jutumaja is developing Storytelling house as a unique creativity centre. It also handles local, regional and international projects and workshops. MTÜ Jutumaja has proven itself in Estonia by organizing local storytelling events, lectures and workshops and organizing storytelling festival" Jutupühad 2016". MTÜ Jutumaja has also participated last summer "Storytelling and Peace Council" meeting seminar in United Kingdom. With this project Piret Päär (member of the board, storyteller, leader of storytelling movement called Jutukool (Storytelling School) and organiser of the storytelling festival Jutupühad),wish to visit different storytelling festivals in Europe (UK, Sweden). The aim of the project is to raise participants competence, find storytellers, and collaboration partners, create relationships with similar organizations and developing collaboration with other creativity centres.Participating storytelling festivals, taking part workshops and events helps to raise organizations key persons competence, helps to find international contacts and get new ideas and stories. The experiences are shared during following events and workshops inside and outside of organization. International contacts will help to bring good storytellers and storytelling experts to Estonia and local community can also participate international events organized by MTÜ Jutumaja. Also one of the expected outcomes in international level, is to share our Storytelling house model and show Estonia out as a country preserving storytelling tradition in it's culture.
