The THE ASPIE SIGHT (LO SGUARDO DEGLI ASPIE) project is addressed to 18-30 old youth with Asperger Syndrome (AS). The AS is a desorder of autism spectrum that, despite a good cognitive and intellectual level, affects how a person makes sense of the world, processes information and relates to other people. It involves severe impairements in social communication, social interaction and social imagination with consequent deterioration of the quality of life. The scope of the project is to foster socialization and interaction among peers starting from the shared love for cinema. Thus, the idea of an Asperger Cineclub, a by-monthly appointment organized by the youth themselves with the support and cooperation of cinema experts and psychologists. Besides film projections, the project envisages a number of laboratories with the aim to provide basic notions to organize cultural events and to make audiovisul products. Venue of the project: Cooperativa sociale Oasi Urbana, Via Urbana 107 – Rome Duration: 18 months. Number of participants: 15 to 20 young people.
