Living various experiences in order to get ready for a relevant work placement abroad .
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our new project "Living various experiences in order to get ready for a relevant work placement abroad" is the continuing process of 5 previous Leonardo projects. It answers the problems of European cooperation that is to say how to favour mobility, develop intercultural practices and open-mindedness which they arouse. Our high school students of the European section of tertiary Btech in sales and administrative management seize the opportunity to live this wonderful experience in Ireland. This project aims at pursuing the objective of mobility during internships in France and abroad and at improving the mobility of the young people by proposing them a course relying on new ways of information and support. For our pupils of vocational school often showing an indifference for the education and a negative view of themselves, an academic orientation often more endured than wanted, the challenge is important: it is a question of proposing them a course with objectives (a portfolio of skills) and experiences (native speakers, linguistic visits, exchanges, e-twinning); Thus the pupil, valued, is an actor of his/her training and knows that in the final year of high school, according to his/her implication, to his/her motivation and to his/her skill level in language, will be proposed an internship abroad. To benefit from an experience abroad represents a source of personal fulfillment for the pupils, a valuation of their course of study is an essential asset for their continuation of studies (tertiary BTS(TWO-YEAR TECHNICAL DEGREE), BTS in international trade, BTS in tourism) and their future occupational integration. Our project aims at Educating towards the European citizenship Promoting and strengthening the contribution of the vocational training in the process of innovation and so improving the attraction of the course improving the recognition of the course: qualification and skills, certification Developing the cooperation with our partners and working in transversality to propose new training modules Developing the tutoring teachers/companies/pupils The objective for the pupils of tertiary vocational high school diploma is to Strengthen their skills and professional attitudes in connection with the curriculum of the diploma Perfect their linguistic knowledge in English allow them to confront their own culture with the culture of others and so encourage them to develop their mobility in Europe. This new project is part of a progression course from the fifth form to the final year of high school preparing the pupils for the objective to leave 5 weeks (in the final year) to Dublin (one week of linguistic and cultural preparation and 4 weeks of internship), to emphasize their academic career and their skills to favor their participation in European programs after their high school diploma. The partnership currently concerns the Saint André high school and the Irish SME with whom we established a working charter. We also set up a common project with the CEI in Dublin the objective of which is to help us to find internships. The choice of the Republic of Ireland and Dublin is understandable by the diversity of the economic fabric: wholesale and retail companies, numerous and attractive brands, cultural context of the Irish capital: Country of the Eurozone, the cultural and historic wealth of Ireland, multiculturalism (numerous nationalities), human-sized capital in which the pupils acquire ease and autonomy. The choice of the period November-December justifies itself by the important commercial activity in Dublin which requires a need for important staff and consequently the access, for the pupils, to diversified activities and easy integration within the team. The internship abroad will take place 4 weeks in November / December 2015 and November / December 2016 and 26 pupils of tertiary vocational high school diploma will take part in it. Main activities: Practice English in a non linguistic discipline Strengthen the oral communication through professional situations. Use a diversity of native participants Develop the enrichment of the Anglo-Saxon culture. As regards the impact and the expected results, it is a question of favouring and of improving our young people’s personal fulfillment, their cultural openness, technical and organizational, relational and linguistic skills. The potential advantages are the linguistic, professional and cultural input, the capitalization of formal skills (leading to a qualification) but also non formal skills acquired during a stay abroad. Thus this project allows, thanks to the validation of these skills and the obtaining of certifications, to build or to refine their professional project.
