TERMINÉ
The purpose of L’Arche is to create communities where people with mental disabilities can live and work together with people without disabilities.
The volunteer lives in one of our community houses together with 5 to 7 people with a mental disabilities and 2 to 3 other assistants and volunteers.
The volunteer shares daily life with the persons with a mental disability, and assists them where needed. This creates a unique bond and a deep understanding of people with disabilities, resulting in mutual friendship and learning.
The volunteer gets the opportunity to follow an intensive Dutch language course upon arrival, and is coached by the house responsible and by the assistants’ coordinator.
