LIFELONG TRAINING ACTIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS UPGRADE (LIFELONG TRAINING ACTIONS)

The project concerns investment in human capital by organization of training programs for the local population, such as professional upgrade of knowledge and skills on modern subjects, such as development of IT skills, planning of tourist packages and management of environmental resources. The project aims to create a competitive environment on the local market for the effective protection of environment and sustainable development in tourism, beginning of dialogue among the partners on regional level as a part of the bottom up approach for involving citizens in the regional policy. An enhanced cooperation will be achieved through the creation of additional specific information networks concerning regional policy matters by the establishment of a permanent committee, operating under the supervision of the relevant public authorities. Directly benefited from the proposed project are 135 individuals: 76 Greeks and 59 Bulgarians organized in 10 training programmes on one of the abovementioned subjects. Other results include self-management of the local communities, socio-economic environment of cross-border region and improved local human capital. Expected Results: The following are set as the expected results of the proposed project: - The training for the local quantitative data, number of residents attending modern Programs of Training that correspond to real needs of training in crucial sectors for the local economies. - The growth of additional useful local experience and know-how on issues of professional training. - The upgrade of knowledge and dexterities of individuals that will benefit from the training. - The improvement of cross-border mobility and the consolidation of potential collaboration between Greek and Bulgarian organisations. Directly benefited from the proposed project are 154 individuals: 106 Greeks and 48 Bulgarians. The indirect benefits could be: - The self-management of the local communities, while they will obtain significant experience in the implementation of training actions (and in particular actions of cross-border character).- The wider socio-economic environment of cross-border region, while the improved local human capital resulting form this cross-border collaboration will have positive reflection in the economic and social activity of the region. Added to this the family and social environment, is legitimately expected, to be influenced also in terms of integration and development of the participation in the job market.
