The project is called People Around Us. Our aim is a two-week placement for 10 students. 8 students of Social Pedagogy and 2 students of Pre-school and out-of-school pedagogy. The host organisation will be the English partner school Tellus, Ltd. Work Experience UK. The students of Social Pedagogy will work in workplaces of the partner school - charity centres of social care for the socially excluded people - the homeless and drug addicted people in the area of the city of Plymouth. The students of Pre-school and out-of-school pedagogy will take their teaching practice in kindergartens. The programme will be made up by the special vocational preparation before departure and by the placement itself. Our aim is special and language experience, casual differences in approach to the target clients in the social sphere, gaining the fundamental skills for eventual getting a job in the EU in the given field of practice, problems of employment of social workers and kindergarten teachers, challenges and inspiration for creating new types of jobs for social workers and kindergarten teachers, learning to be tolerant to the mental, social, cultural and civilisation differences and general enrichment of knowledge concerning other countries of the EU. The results of the project are focused on practical knowledge and skills in the field of 1. social work with the homeless and drug addicted 2. pre-school pedagogy and care for the 3 and 4 years old children The participants will observe the model of social care, they will learn the new skills and practical experience and will keep their documentation. The project will start in September 2014 with the selection of students, professional preparation, the placement itself will take place in February/March 2015 and after the return of the participants the dissemination of the results will take place, both on the regional and district level. This dissemination and final report will round up the project by the first of September 2015. At the end of the placement the participants will receive the Europass Mobility and the Certificate of Work Experience. The project is to contribute to the quality of vocational education of our school and to the attractivity of Pre-school and out-of-school pedagogy and Social Pedagogy.
