Let us become Europeans
Date du début: 7 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 6 déc. 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Jämtland is a region where skepticism to the European Union has been higher than in any other region in Sweden. Among our students we also have, together with Gotland, a lower percentage of the students continuing with studies at university level. As teachers on the Social Science program we have for many years worked with concept of seeing the whole of Europe as a field of interest and a job market. We have with our students taken part in EYP (European Youth Parliament) and also supported our third grade students to go on a two week international work practice even though we have a theoretical curriculum. For several years we have had an exchange with Lviv, Ukraine with both students and teachers participating. Working together with our school project “Let us become Europeans” gives us a chance to develop our cross-curricular projects at school and involve our students. E-twinning is an instrument we plan to use to make new friends across Europe. We have, after two teachers taken part in a Comenius Life Long Learning program November 2013 Chain-course in Seville become aware of the importance of giving teachers the opportunity to meet with colleagues from other European countries to exchange ideas and learn from each other. We are convinced that the courses provided by the Chain foundation we would like 18 teachers and one headmaster to participate in will give motivation to develop teaching skills and strategies that our students will benefit from. The “chain-concept” demands preparation, an active approach during the course and evaluation. The courses include elements of ICT techniques and CLIL (combining content with language training) as well as creative and innovative learning working with concrete end-products. Our long-term main goal is to make our students integrated in Europe, becoming aware of and feeling part of a European identity and of our common future, where we all have to co-operate. The estimated number of participants is 22 , teachers with different subjects and the headmaster.
