Let's talk European
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In a more and more interdependent world cross-cultural and communication competences attained through time spent abroad are becoming more important every day. Therefore the facilitation of individual competences concerning the ability to obtain a job after finishing school or the apprenticeship is a focal point of the project 'Let's talk European'. Objectives of the projectThe facilitation of competences with regard to communication is a main aspect of this project. The focus is set onto job-related and social competences. With regard to social competences especially cross-cultural and language competences are emphasised. The Europeanisation of education is advanced as well. The trainers and teachers get the opportunity to use the experience gained abroad for teaching at their institutions at home. The tandem-mobilities (trainers from companies together with teachers) support the Europeanisation of education in companies and vocational institutions. Even more they provide a new stimulus for vocational education.Number and profile of the participantsstudents doing on-the job training (dual system of vocational education): 77On the one hand the students are participants of the course International Marketing / Trade (MWBK, BKN). On the other hand they are doing a work-placement abroad either organised by the company they work for or by themselves (MWBK, BKN, HHBK).Students of the vocational college: 12The students are doing the work placement abroad in lieu of a compulsory work placement in Germany.Teachers and trainers from companies: 23Teachers in charge of adopting competence based curricula form the largest number of participants here. Apart from that members of the European-Teams of the schools and interested trainers from companies take part.Description of planned activitiesThe project is divided into four activities. The participants of activity 1) are students of the dual system of vocational education. The students taking part in activity 2) are students of the vocational college. Activities 1) and 2) are similar in their structure:before the mobility: Students analyse and document typical communication situations. During the mobility: The participants observe and document at least five communication situations on the blog. After the mobility: By half the project resp. near the end of the project presentations will be held where the findings will be shown. As the students in activity 2) have no direct contact with the world of work their analysis of the communication situations can only take place during their time abroad. In the activities 3) and 4) mobilities of vocational teachers and trainers from companies are summarised. In activity 3) the facilitation of competences of teachers is the main focus. As competence-based learning is getting more and more important, especially at vocational schools, this aspect is a main point here. In this activity the participants will focus on using their experience in competence-based learning at their institutions.Participants of the Tandem-Mobilities centre on the cooperation of trainers from companies and teachers.Implementation of the projectThe choice of participants is in the hands of the corresponding members of the consortium. When the number of applicants is higher than the number of mobilities the participants will be chosen by the help of motivation letters. The planning of precise activities abroad will be handled in close cooperation with the participant, the foreign partner/company and the member of the consortium. The findings of the participants will be published on the project blog.Intended outcomes and effects on the studentsfacilitation of competences (job-related and social)self-development and independencethe EU as employment marketreduction of the risk of becoming unemployed...on the teachers and trainersEurope as a subject in vocational educationEuropeanisation of vocational education...on the institutionspolishing up their international profileintensifying their cooperationinstitutions get more interesting for future studentsexpected long-term benefitIn the long-run work placements abroad should become a normal and cardinal part of vocational education.
