TERMINÉ
The training "Let's Play Together" will happen in Oeiras, Portugal and will have as objectives the promotion of the disabled sports for people with physical and sensory disabilities.
In the course of this project the participants will have the opportunity to take part in various experiences and have direct contact with this target group that will facilitate the real understanding of their differences and similarities, using sports as a tool for integration and disseminate the image of the rights for All.
More than a direct exposure of specific sport activities adapted to people with disabilities, we intend to celebrate the diversity of approaches towards disability in the partner countries, looking for a more active involvement of young people in this area.
We intend to involve 30 participants (youth workers with or without experience and young people with physical and sensory disabilities) without age limit, coming from different European countries (Portugal, Romania, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Turkey, Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, Greece and Estonia)
We will perform multiple reflections, workshops, group dynamics and sports practice, including Boccia, Slalom, Volleyball, Athletics and Goalball.
The participants of this training will have the opportunity to contact with Portuguese young practitioners of these modalities, being invited to participate other practioners with disabilities sent by the European partners.
There will also be the opportunity to share the Portuguese culture, while participants will share their culture with the other group members.
At the end of the training is intended that participants have acquired enough knowledge about adapted sports to take to their countries and give them tools to raise awareness of their organizations and the local governments to support initiatives of this scope.
We also intend to promote the personal and social value of the participants with disabilities, increase their self-esteem and their motivation, to encourage other young people with disabilities to play sports as a way to improve their quality of life and well-being.
