"Let's F.O.C.U.S. on Youth!"
Date du début: 1 janv. 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project entitled ?Let?s F.O.C.U.S. on the Youth!? is a continuation of the project ?European citizenship in a mini edition? , which started in 01.09.2013 and finished in 01.08.2014 and was placed in the city of Ozurgeti. In teamwork with other EVS volunteers from different European countries, the previous EVS volunteer managed to build the first Youth Center F.O.C.U.S. (Free Ozurgeti Cinema United Space) in Ozurgeti. Together they went out of their way to realize this ambitious vision - create an open, active space in Ozurgeti for young people. The volunteers established a place, where the youngsters can meet each other and spend their free time meaningfully. EVS volunteers were conducting many workshops, sport activities, language lessons, organizing events in cooperation with the local youth for the society in Ozurgeti. The aim of the project was an active citizenship, rising EU awareness, promoting youth policy, improving competences such as creativity and entrepreneurship and informal inter-cultural education experience, promoting EU programmes (ERASMUS+) and changing national and international youth policy. In the end of the project volunteers prepared a manual for the Youth Center. The project host for a period of 6 months two Polish volunteers and took place in the city of Ozurgeti. The volunteers with others volunteers from abroad and Georgia were responsible for the Youth Center management and its short and long perspective, planning and conducting daily activities and short - term projects, which served the youngsters from the hosting communities, equip them with necessary skills for self-realization. Main aim of the project "Let's F.O.C.U.S on Youth" was to establish firm and stable bridge between EVS volunteers and the society in Ozurgeti, especially the children and youth by maintaining this successful fruit of work of the previous EVS volunteers and to show to young people the alternative way of spending free time. It was mostly completed. EVS Volunteers project was developed in slightly different form then previous project taking place in the same Youth Centre. They did it in the new way, left their own signature which was very important for their self development. There was no need to build anymore "technically" Youth Centre (furnitures, space, decoration) so they dedicated fully their time to offer in the creative way many interesting daily activities like art and recycling workshops, sport games, organise events like "Europe Day" to rise European awareness and show the traditional culture of their home countries, English lessons, board games. The managed to involve in their daily meetings young children from Ozurgeti, including the ones from Euroclub founded by Student Youth Council. The last sentence is very important taking on account the second particular goal which was succeded: participating in the activities offered by EVS volunteers and being the member of the youth center is going to give to the youngsters a sense of belonging to something important and feeling responsible for some bigger matter. It is highly possible that the youngster from Euroclub with some help from the SYC coordinators will be responsible for the F.O.C.U.S. Youth Centre management, conducting activities, rising European awareness, promoting EU programmes (ERASMUS+) and changing national and international youth policy. Especially, since Student Youth Council announced that the local authorities are planning full renovation of the Youth Centre building. Two EVS project and the work of EVS volunteers have attracted attention of local self-government and showed to the Authority of Ozurgeti such place is needed. For this stage, has started a reconstruction of the park in front of cinema. The full rehabilitation of cinema will be done in 2016 and for the summer it will be active already. It will be converted into a huge space for the youth to arrange various activities for them. We can say that the common work between Student Youth Council and Institute of Innovation Foundation in the EVS programme had very good result. What is more, as a next stage of the cooperation and the youth centre development we are planning to apply in February to the National Agency in order to organise the Youth Exchange between the countries of the founders - the EVS volunteers who have created this place (Germany, France, Poland and Georgia). The project is under the discussion now, but the main idea is to create common action in "F.O.C.U.S" Youth Centre and left our stamp again in Ozurgeti by offering plenty of event in the same time and decorating the building with the Georgian youngsters. The draft name of the project is "Be creative for Youth (Centre)!!!"
