The main theme of this project is promoting the idea of active citizenship by observing and demonstrating different cultures.The main objective is to give young people an opportunity to fulfill their creative abilities through making movie based on intercultural dialogue.Young participants from 6 countries will be involved in a process of intercultural learning using movie¬making as a methodology. Identifying movie as a connecting point that brings together young people from different cultures, this youth exchange tends to provide a multicultural environment for the young participants, so they would explore similarities and diversity of tradition and cultures of different nations with recorded materials that the participants will bring for their cultures on the exchange. Those materials will involve: traditional songs and dances, historical and cultural values, famous persons, traditions, historical events etc.During ten days of activities, 30 young participants from Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Estonia, Italy and Portugal will work together on designing on a movie where they will involve the selected elements from the cultures involved for what the participants will give their viewing. They will also work on recording, planning and preparation of one public promotion of the movie they made and a brochure in electronic and printed version- as a final result of the project which will be used as further promotion of the project in their homelands. The DVD from the movie will be produced in a large number of copies, which will be then distributed to young people from the local communities involved. In this way, the project will introduce a great number of other young people with our idea and results from the work and the youth will get new knowledge about the cultures of different countries. Participants of each country will have a chance to make a short cultural and entertaining presentation including food and music from their homeland.During this project, participants will learn about different cultures through the cultural evenings and through general dialogue with each other.This project tends to develop future co-operation between the partners in the framework of the Youth In Action Programme. The youth exchange "Let's document our cultural story" will take place in Ohrid, Macedonia, duringSeptember 2009.
