In the context of high unemployment rate among young people in Europe and especially in the context of still existing Roma discrimination, the project consortium felt the need to address those important issues and support youth workers and young people in Europe and beyond to acquire more professional skills and competences while gaining valuable experience in a multi-cultural environment. For the purposes to meet the need of our society and especially the need of the young Roma people, a specialized International Training Course has been developed and is proposed as to support young people' personal and professional growth, while focusing on enhancing their entrepreneurship skills. .Activity type: Training and networking of youth workers - Partner CountriesVenue: Bansko, Bulgaria.Dates: 1st May - 9th May 2016.Countries involved: Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Jordan, Spain, Greece and Lithuania.Target group will be mixed - at least one half of our participants will be of Roma origin. We are open to all people who wish to be actively involved in working with Roma youth and their issues (youth workers, youth leaders, NGO activists). Number of participants: 32Number of trainers: 2Number of staff (from the host organization): 2 The main goals of the project:- Contribute to decrease the number of unemployed Roma people- Stimulating of the creativity and entrepreneurship- Networking with other organizations working on the same problemSpecific objectives:- To network with other organizations working with Roma issue- To provide 9 days of training course that covers: awareness about different countries, cultures, traditions and policies and socio-economic issues- Transferring the knowledge and promoting the Erasmus+ Programme among a large number of young people from the local communities of 10 different countries (both EU and non-EU)The following will be used as non-formal methods of learning: workshops, brainstorming, facilitated discussions, problem solving initiatives, guided visualizations, creative writing exercises and simulations, then individual, team work and group tasks, evaluation questionnaire and learning points, practical activities, exchange of knowledge and experience, and mixture of outdoor activities and study visits. Our activities cover most of the following themes: different models of economic empowerment of Roma youth, functional non-formal education for Roma, basic management skills, communication skills, the ability to work both as part of a team and independently, writing a successful CV, cover letter, the attitude of active citizenship and active participation in the local community, ability to work in an multi-cultural environment, an attitude of tolerance and understanding towards new cultures, ability to network and make contacts, knowledge needed for writing projects and submitting applications as well as all necessary information about possibilities that Erasmus+ program offers. This training course also promotes tolerance among young people, considering the concrete target group. We have also devoted several special sessions on Roma inclusion and successful stories in Roma integration and entrepreneurship. The outcomes and successful results of this project will be further shared and disseminated among other NGOs, young people and youth workers and all stakeholders, who are interested in Roma issues, including unemployment among young Roma people and further professional and personal development via Online platforms, social media, documentary and video and photo materials.
