Let Every Body Speak(Haydi Bedenlerimizi Konuşturalım)
Date du début: 20 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 25 oct. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Non-verbal communication or body language is an important part of how people communicate and there are differences from culture to culture. Hand and arm gestures, touch, and eye contact are a few aspects of non-verbal communication that may vary significantly depending upon cultural background. It is important to understand that one culture's set of acceptable body language gestures or movements may not translate with the same meaning in a different culture. For example, a handshake can denote a greeting and respect in one culture. That may not be the case in another culture, where a handshake may be taken as an insult. Especially, in the Southern Europe, people speak with open gestures and mostly use their arms and hands. Conversely, towards Northern Europe, especially in regions of intensive industrialization, the arms are kept close to the body and moved very little. During our project, we try to provide young people to use their body language and gestures functionally through the activities included in project. Also, enjoyable activities will be conducted for learning interesting gestures and mimics from different cultures. Main aims of the project; to develop perceptual awareness among young people, to gain ability of self-expression with body language and gestures, to prevent misunderstanding caused by differences between cultures and to explain the fact that the source of a richness cross-cultural differences. Intercultural activities, sport events, theatre and drama, ice-breaking games, workshops and outdoor activities will play an important role in achieving the objectives of our project. Taking part in this exchange will contribute to young people's personal development and might expand their professional opportunities, help them to set up learning and career goals and provide to use their body language the most effective way. Our project is a youth exchange program that young people can share their ideas freely with each other based on cooperation and tolerance. We tried matching the goals of our project with the youth exchange program goals. Providing young people to be involved in project work, we will try to attain the maximum level in terms of project outcomes. Our project will consist of 7 nights and 8 days. In this project, there will be 42 participants from 7 different countries. We chose Trabzon as the city of project. We chose this city because the local people use effectively their body language and gestures. For example, some of the villages in this region, the people use bird language, because of the steep slopes and scattered settlement. This is directly related to the project and we think it would be an advantage for us in our project. During the project, all activities will take place in non-formal learning techniques, and we will try to create a learning environment that at the highest level.
