Our school is state-approved and consists of a primary school (classes 1to 4), a medium level (classes 5 and 6) and a 7th class grammar school. The grammar school is still in developement stage thats why we are interested in optimizing our methods of teaching and our teaching material. Furthermore we want to give our teachers the posibility to take part in further education regularly. Due to this project we would like to provide a special support in the destination country for our foreign language teachers. Our teachers will live in host families, thats why they will get an idea of the living and culture of different countries. We will send four teachers - one French teacher, two English teachers and one bilingual German/History teacher. One of the English teachers wants to take part in the course "Focus on Scotland: Course for teachers of English at secondary level" in Dunfermline. Within the course there will be a workshop on the topic "Teaching English". Furthermore the participants will gain a huge variety of teaching ideas and materials ready to use in the classroom. Emphasis will be on motivating pupils through a variety of activities which engage their imaginations & creativity. This course includes the optimization of language competence of the teachers and it includes background to Scottish history, politics, literature and education and visits to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Festival takes place during this course. The other English teacher wants to take part in the course "Creative activities and motivating materials for the secondary classroom" in Gloucester. Within the course there will be a workshop on the topic "Teaching English". Furthermore the participants will gain a huge variety of teaching ideas and materials ready to use in the classroom. Emphasis will be on motivating pupils through a variety of activities which engage their imaginations & creativity. This course includes the optimization of language competence of the teachers. The participants get the posibility to update their knowledge about British life, the culture and the development of the English language. In addition to the course there will be a workshop on the topic "Shakespeare`s Theatre" with a visit of Stradford-upon-Avon". The French teacher is planning a language course in Paris and the biliteacher wants to attend the course "C.L.I.L. for History, Geography and other Humanities" in Cheltenham. With the help of the gained methods, materials and ideas our teachers want to present realistic and varied lessons for our pupils. Other aims are an exchange of experiences with collegues of other nationalities and the gain of new partner schools. In the end our participants will work als "multiplicators" in order to inform the others about their experiences and their knowledge.
