Our project "Leisure Activities Assistants in Great Britain" aims at organising training periods in the Torquay region UK for students during the school years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. The target groups for each school year are 20 students of Leisure Activities Assistant (vocational level). For these target groups the training period is a part of the curriculum aimed at international "customers". The school wants to give better opportunities on the European labour market to the students by offering work placements abroad in the tourist and leisure sector. During their internship the participants will receive and inform customers (and other target groups), organise and lead activities, book and make reservations, do administration, etc ...A training period abroad is of enormous value to the participants. They can fully improve their professional, linguistic and social skills in an international environment as well as improve their self sufficiency and knowledge about a new culture and a new tourist destination.We expect the participants to complete the training period succesfully. They will show enhanced professional skills, have gained confidence and motivation and they will have substantially improved their ability to communicate in English. We also expect that the participants' chances on the international labour market will have improved.At staff level the project will develop the team's skills and lead to more expertise in coaching and tutoring and the development of new methods and teaching materials and documents.In the long run we want to develop the amount and the quality of mobilities, expand our international network and improve the quality of training for students in order to better meet the demands of the European labour market.
