The project "Teachers Plus" addresses teachers in vocational training in theory and praxis. The teaching staff engaged in local companies and vocational training institutions from the region of Nordhausen and Kyffhäuser should benefit from education related stays abroad such as internships, language courses and job-shadowing. The implementation of the project is carried out by enabling one to three weeks of education related stays in the EU and its partner countries. The focus is set towards improving language skills, learning new and expanding existing methodological skills, engaging in transnational cooperation, etc. Another goal is exchanging working methods with their European colleagues within the education system as well as in the workplace. Furthermore, this project is in alliance with achieving the given goals of the VET system in Northern Thuringia and should make a significant contribution to the internalization strategy of the region. Special incentives to both theoretical side in the vocational training and practical side in the companies through the possibility of education related stays are to be set. Due to many structural and demographical changes noted in the region, the implementation of the project should develop and establish positive economic and social development.
For everyone involved this results in perspective win-win situations: new attractive and interesting training opportunities for young people in the region of Northern Thuringia emerge; companies can differentiate themselves by offering outstanding training content and securing and retraining their skilled labor, and the region becomes more attractive as a whole. Moreover, the target group should serve as promoter and disseminator on local as well as regional level by boosting mobility and free movement of the European Union.
The project management team of BIC Nordthüringen supports its participants through an intensive intercultural and language preparation and guidance throughout the whole internship duration.
All participants can chose their language course, or company (relevant to their profession), as well as the period of the internship, according to their individual professional needs. Every participant receives an “Euro Pass mobility” after successfully finishing the internship.
