Project background Grammar school GRG3 Radetzkystraße, Vienna, can proudly look back at a long tradition of its “scientific branch”. Within the framework of the proposed school development, the newly-formed second grammar school branch should focus on foreign languages, art and culture. The project should enhance the image of the school as culturally open-minded institution in terms of the European 2020 Strategy. Coordinator of VoXmi ( Learning languages from each other - project of the Austrian Ministry of Education ) Malgorzata Oliwa Teacher of Arts, Technical and textile crafts . Member of the School Development Group. Participant of the course " German as a second language " at the University of Education Vienna. Procedures and activities • Selection of the appropriate courses • Participation in the selected teacher training courses in Spain, United Kingdom and Greece • Building networks with colleagues from different countries • Exchange of insights, information and experiences at regular coordination meetings • Feedback on outcomes of the teacher training • Active participation in the School Development Group • Implementing new methods, newly acquired knowledge, experiences, materials, etc. in the praxis • Developing and implementation of cross-cultural class projects • Fulfillment of the dissemination plan (colleagues, already existing networks, etc.), sharing outcomes of the project • Project evaluation , final report Description of the expected long-term benefits • Improved teaching competences and foreign language competences of the participants and in further consequence of other colleagues (participants as multiplicators) • Modernization and internationalization of the school • Improved learning performances and motivation of the pupils due to the innovative teaching methods • Enhanced intercultural awareness of both the teaching staff and pupils • Greater understanding of social and cultural diversity of the pupils • Increased European dimension of the institution • Enhanced understanding of the school systems in different European countries • Better preparation of the pupils for the European job market
