Several research has been conducted on the understanding of how the brain works during a learning process. For a long period of time, scholars thought that young people learn differently and, therefore, must be taught differently. This may be true in theory, but it might be impossible to implement within the scope of formal education.According to many scholars, non-formal education is essential for the personal development and lifelong learning of individuals. Non-formal education is an important supplement of formal education, as it provides young people with "soft skills" that are essential for their future employment but are difficult to acquire through formal education.Non-formal education, as it is not bound by the same - and often strict - rules as formal education, has more possibilities to explore different methodologies that would target all the elements of learning. Therefore, the aim of the project is to:enhance the skills and competences of young people through non-formal and alternative education.The partners set the following objectives in order to reach the aim:1) To build capacity of youth organizations in Europe to provide high quality learning opportunities to young people.2) To enhance youth organizations' effectiveness in promoting non-formal and alternative education among young people. 3) To provide youth organizations with effective ways to utilize the Erasmus+ program for their work in the educational field.The project will consist of two activities:A1 - Training courseThe training course will be a 9-day activity that aims provide youth leaders with methods in non-formal education and skills in facilitation and conflict resolution. The activity will be held in Moldova in May 2016 and will gather 8 European organizations and 24 youth workers.A2 - Study VisitThe study visit will be a 6-day activity that aims to share good practices with youth leaders on promoting and implementing alternative ways of education. The activity will be held in Denmark in October 2016 and will gather 8 European organizations and 24 Youth workers.Through the dissemination of the project results, many youth organizations will be reached all over Europe and will be inspired towards enhancing the quality of the non-formal education they offer using the methods and tools of the project. This will bring a positive change in the quality and efficiency of training and education across Europe, which will contribute to the decrease of the unemployment rate and reduce the rate of early school leaving.
