The ‘Learning to learn how to participate’ project was held in SVC Decko Nachod, Czech Republic and the project was be implemented also by SVČ Déčko Náchod. Déčko ensured support the environment, experience and contacts for the professionals and partner participants who were cooperating during the project together with Fundus Glacensis (located in Kudowa Zdrój, Poland). The two organization have collaborated already successfully together which also strengthen the motivation and the commitment to work on other projects in the future together.
The main goal in the ‘Learning to learn how to participate’ project was to create and establish a youth platform in the future, this project helped to realize and identify the needs of the youth and also to encourage them to be more active. The more effective way to reach this target was to cooperate and involve experienced youth leaders, youth, organizations and the local community. Unite those different groups in one project was the more effective way, as they could directly share ideas, experience, needs, aims, possibilities.
The project was separated into 3 sections which helped to process the result of the evaluation and work on the next step with the new consequences.
The first part was organized for 27 youth leaders form the Czech Republic and from Poland. It was a 4 days mobility program and it was in Náchod. In this part, there was no age limit, and the participants were selected by the organization from their country. The youth workers took part in workshops, lectures and other types of activities which are useful to find out needs of youth, gain knowledge about youth policy and develop skills which are helpful in their work.
The second part was a youth exchange for 7 days for 26 Czech and Polish students from the age of 14 till 20, they were also selected by the organization from their country. Activities for youngsters will be concentrated on communication, project management team building and intercultural learning.
The third part is a 2 days long summary and dissemination section for 27 participant without age limit. One of the program in this part was open for public, where the local community could be the active part. Sharing the result with the public brought new ideas and new possibilities in the future.
All the three parts were based on non-formal education, which is the most effective way to share information. Presenting the details for the participants through conventional methods (paper based, question and answer session) but through interactive methods (presentations, different social media, online environment) as well.
Using different methods during the project helped the identification and recognition the impacts, which is the willingness to work together in the future with the knowledge they acquired. The desired purpose was to create a safe place for youth, learn how to encourage them and how to relate youth with the local community.
