Our school has a lot of students and teachers and it has an excellent reputaion in its district. The school offers five different courses, allowing us to develop the students' potential to the full.. We were keen to set up this project in order to meet the objectives that were put in the Improvement Plan and also in our three-year school plan: fewer school failures, development of citizenship key competences, improvement of language skills to consolidate our school vocation to internationalization. In order to reach our target, we have to start with teacher training leading to teaching innovation and inclusion (focusing on the use of alternative methodologies such as flipped classroom, peer education and project based learning), internationalization, the use of digital technologies to strengthen VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). These methodologies will be used to enhance the more traditional methods of teaching which are typical of this type of school in order to prevent school failures. In addition they aim to give students long term competences which can be used in different social and economic contexts thus favouring the sense of belonging to a common Europe. Our project has one more objective, that of meeting different people and experiences throughout Europe, and strengthening the many contacts we already have with other schools in Belgium, Spain, Romania, the Netherlands, France, Sweden and Germany. By giving importance to this European dimension we can pave the way to our children, citizens, students and future European workers. From these shared experiences new, deep competences should result, both in the way of teaching and in mastering foreign languages, also in view of our future engagement concerning the teaching of a non-linguistic subject in CLIL methodology in most classes, as well as the starting of activities in an Esabac class (double diploma, French and Italian). The participants in the Erasmus + are 20, including the School Principal and three employees from the administration, but the mobilities are 26 beacuse 5 teachers and the Principal are going to two different places. The teachers' profiles are very different, though they show a common motivation to go on a training course abroad in order to face better the 21st century challenges (technologies, learning environment, special needs students, learning styles and emotional intelligences). They have worked together to make up this project and have separately followed the different themes that pervade it: CLIL, language improvement, new teaching methods, new technologies and digital competences. The activities involved are mainly linked to attending courses in France, Spain, Germany, the Uk, Finland and Malta. The methodology involved is that of the workshop, connected with experiencing in the classroom what has been learnt in the various courses. The expected results are: a. higher motivation for teachers and, therefore, also for students b. better language competences for teachers c. more solid digital competences to be applied to the classroom everyday d. ability to share what has been learnt with colleagues and stakeholders e. administration personnel able to handle autonomously foreign students arriving at school, as well as European forms. The impact will be strong and bring about a true change for teaching , in the medium and long term, for teaching towards a real personalization of the curriculum. The benefits will be measurable by the number of CLIL Modules implemented, the starting of new Esabac classes and a deeper wish to put up new exchanges and twinnings with European countries and open the doors to the external world.
