L 'Ancora is a diurnal cycle in terriotriale addressed to persons with disability grade average who have completed their schooling and promotes educational interventions designed on a personal basis and carries out activities aimed at enhancing the degree of personal and social autonomy and pursue goals integration in the community. The C.S.E. promotes numerous activities that vary according to educational planning on the individual and the group. The annual program is aimed at supporting and developing the various autonomies that provide the disabled person a good quality of life. It is to support cognitive abilities, those communicative, emotional and relational skills, those personal and work.
L’Ancora is in Lurate Caccivio, territory solidale for tradition. there are many volunteers that have been collaborating for years to the realization of the educational project. L’Ancora is to half road among the cities of Como and Varese. it is not distant from Milan but it enjoys of a slow rhythm of life.
The main goal of our EVS project is the social inclusion of people with disabilities medium grade. We intend to implement a project in which young people can express their ability in terms of solidarity and spirited of initiative; the volunteers will be involved mainly in actions related at changing the culture towards disability. Each subject, although with difficulty, can lead enrichment in society: this is our challenge.
Another objective is to raise awareness among young people of the territory stimulating curiosity about the european union, its operation and the possibilities of action for youth.
The European volunteer will be for 10 month at Lurate Caccivio side by side the operators of the center and will cooperate with the people disabled. In the mornings and afternoons she will have the opportunity to live some of the numerous activities that we develop: artistic, motor, riabilitative, therapeutics ones. He/she will also live moments less structured so that she will be able to know the world of the disability with a professional approach and also direct, emotional one. Activity of care and assistance won't be proposed to the volunteer. The volunteer will collaborate with the dducators, but never subtitute them. By the time the volunteer will be able to take responsibility and act directly in some activities, learning to deal directly with people with disabilities.
