In the period of 1 year 10 youth leaders from The Hague (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Amarante (Portugal), Cluj Napaco (Romania), Palermo (Italy), Cordoba (Argentina), Nairobi (Kenya), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Accra (Ghana), Quezon City (Philippines) working on peace building, especially related to poverty, social exclusion and gender equality initiatives, will engage in job shadowing projects. During their meetings they will share with 50 other youth leaders;the experience and the knowledge on how to run a youth organisation, including management and legal structures,the experience and the knowledge regarding how to carry out local youth projects (development, implementation and evaluation).Additionally the youth leaders will engage in local outreach activities within the 10 partner countries during and after the job shadowing week reaching more than 1000 youth directly in the 10 countries combined. The youth leaders will meet at least 20 policy makers and local and/or national leaders in the field of youth affairs in the 10 countries and at the EU.The project will conclude with a global campaign to celebrate the International Day of Peace on 21 September reaching more than 3500 people directly.Through out the project period the 60 youth leaders and partner organisations will document their experiences and gained knowledge using videos, photos and online blogs on a specially developed website in English and Spanish.The main aim of the project is to improve future international cooperation among at least 10, if not more, youth led organisations from around the world within our network. The project will ensure that our partners have a good understanding of the working realities of their counterparts and the potential limitation and strengths they enjoy in future cooperation. The project additionally aims to build capacities of the 10 youth led and youth focused organisations in improving the implementation of youth projects that address the priority issues poverty and social exclusion, youth participation and MDG 1, eradicating poverty and MDG 3 women empowerment and gender equality. The project aims to promote youth policy dialogue among youth organisation and local/national leaders and promote the youth participation in the European African youth policy dialogue. The project will utilize the global efforts for the UN International Year of Youth which promotes recognition of youth participation for a sustainable society.The concrete products of the project:One online publication of best practices on organisation and project management and information about the effect of global issues of poverty, social exclusion, gender inequality and youth participation on young people all other the world.14 Video reports about global challenges youth face in communities around the world.1 global campaign for peace conducted in European, African, Latin American and Asian countries reaching 10,000 youth.Plans for 4 joint international follow up projects.The results and products of the project will be disseminated through the news letter channels of all partner organisations reaching 50.000 people. The UNOY Peacebuilders website and the project website reaching over 27.000 people. The project will be publicised on websites and newsletters of external partners of the project partners including the UN-Alliance of Civilisations, UN-Habitat, the UN-youth newsletter, National Agencies of the Youth in Action program and the INGO's GYAN and Taking it Global among others.
