„Learn For Life, Learn From Life 2“ is an EVS project that will take place in Holešov, the Czech Republic. The hosting organisation based in the town, Free-Time Activities Centre TYMY, will host two volunteers sent by Fundació Catalunya Voluntària based in Bacelona, Spain, for 12 months between September 2015 and September 2016. As the name of the project suggests, the volunteers will participate in activities of the Centre in order to gain valuable skills increasing their employability, experience another European culture to improve their feeling of Europeanness, and generally to learn new things from which they will benefit in years to come as well. Each of them will be going through a process of non-formal and informal learning during their service. The voluntary work will involve working with local children and the youth in various interest clubs (focused on fine art, music, sports etc.), co-organising one-off events of local, regional and national importance, coming up with their own projects to raise awareness about European issues and, during the summer holidays, leading groups of children at summer camps. This variety of activities in which they will be involved is supposed to make the volunteers more active European citizens conscious of current social issues and competitive on the job market. Their work in the town is also expected to spread a sense of belonging and connection to the European Union within the local community.
