Leading to Learn Together

According to OECD Education Policy Outlook 2015 "Making Reforms Happen" supporting schools is to raise the quality of teaching and learning that requires developing conducive learning environments and ensuring high-quality school leaders and teachers. As the quality of teachers is key for effective learning, EU countries have made this a policy priority, adopting broad strategies, defined standards or more targeted approaches to develop the teaching profession. The general aim of the project "Leading to Learn Together" is to develop new approach of qualitative school-based professional development of teachers. This will be reached by meeting specific objectives of the project:1. To explore experience and best practice in Partner countries visiting 3 - 4 schools/institutions of different types to have a deeper insight in approaches, methods and instruments concerning school-based teachers' professional development and leadership role in the process of planning, organizing, analyzing and reflecting upon teachers professional development.2. To develop the hand book for school leadership and teachers “Learning to Learn Together” which is based on the gained understanding of approaches, methods and instruments used in Partner schools/institutions. 3. To develop strategy of implementing the new approach of teachers' professional development in everyday life of schools through workshops in each partner country.Project partnership is built up from six Partners and was established taking into consideration previous cooperation and international project experience; partner’s expertise in school leaders' and teachers' professional development, readiness and willingness to implement innovative approaches to improve quality of education processes through school-based professional development.The main project activities are structured in 5 blocks:To gain the goal of the LELETO project, it includes 5 Activity blocks:1. Learning activities 2. Developing the handbook "Leading to Learn Together"3. Producing the handbook4. Regional implementation workshops5. Dissemination and implementation conference "Leading to Learn Together"It is planned that through project activities and beyond them 8205 educators will be reached with a potential to reach more.The expected impact is deeper understanding and broader knowledge of school-based professional development and competencies to use the new approach, which includes methods and instruments in practice to support teachers' professional growth. The stakeholders (local authority, education board etc) will benefit to use the final product of the project (hand book) in a long-term to improve teachers professional development.
