Leadership through Service
Date du début: 1 août 2011,

The “Leadership through service” (LTS) program aims to contribute in participative manner to the building of proactive and creative young people from Macedonia,Western Balkans and EU, enabling them to bring about positive changes in their communities by introducing transformational leadership and by providing opportunities to practice it. Young people from the region of the Western Balkans, living in conditions and surroundings marked by social and financial crises, as well as poorer opportunities for personal and professional development compared to their EU peers, often lose the awareness that they too can make a positive change. They become more and more confused, lacking self-confidence and their overall social awareness is on a lower level. LTS aims to provide young people the opportunity to develop their confidence, skills and leadership effectiveness. These trainings are aimed to include - not exclude, regardless the religious, financial, ethnic backgrounds or professional choice of the participants. The program is based on 4 types of activities: tuition, practical experience, reflection and dialogue. The program is well balanced in terms of theory and practice. Participants are divided in 3 or 4 teams in which they work during the training. Every participant gets the opportunity to be in a leader’s position, and lead the team through various practical team tasks. The program offers these skills through highly innovative experiential tasks that are specifically designed for leadership training and development. The learning from these leadership experiences can then be implemented into the participant’s own lives, social projects, organizations and companies, thereby equipping them with the skills and confidence to see and meet the needs around them. The residential, 7-day training will take place in August in Struga, welcoming 24 participants from FYR Macedonia,UK,Netherlands,Italy,Serbia and ?.LLM is the hosting organization of this project.
