POLITES Association has been committed to actions to support those working with young people ( workers and youth leaders ) for many years. Activities resulting in the conviction that in order to work effectively with young people one needs to constantly improve their skills and knowledge. We believe that skills connected with efficient leadership are crucial in this matter. Therefore, we decided to organize an educational project which is developing the attitudes of leadership, which will enable participants to explore issues of effective leadership in a team, explore their personal potential in leading groups as well as in terms of effective team collaboration. The main purpose of the training is to provide participants with leadership skills that will help them to work effectively with young people and for young people in the future. The training program will take into account the following issues: the group process, group roles, roles and responsibilities of leadership, good conditions for cooperation in the group, the analysis of competencies and learning, communication. The training will take place in Szczecin, 18-24 August 2014. The training will be conducted with the use of methods based on the principles of non-formal education and outdoor training methodology (games, simulations, role plays, outdoor activities, activities in the city; methods involving participants at different levels of cooperation in a group and in pairs). The methods are chosen in such a way that it does not require any special physical condition, but instead require good cooperation, coordination, good and clear communication, concentration and healthy rivalry. These are exercises that require understanding of the respective roles, attitudes, conflict resolution, conflict prevention, foster the spirit of cooperation, delegation of tasks, mobilizing, assessing the effects of group work. The training will be attended by 24 participants, 3 from Poland, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, Portugal and Spain. Additional 3 people associated with the Association of POLITES are 2 trainers and 1 support person. The role of the POLITES Association is the preparation and conduct of training and organization of technical and logistical issues in Szczecin, all partners are to choose participants that will represent them, and to help with travel arrangements.
