The TC“Leaders need skills” will bring together youth workers trainers and project organizers from different EU countries with the purpose of equipping them with skills needed to grow as a youth leader, whilst introducing the project method of training. The international 7-day-lasting training course aims at acquiring new skills and knowledge, professional and generic competencies, which will help them raise self-esteem, learn how to work, raise competitiveness, and improve coaching skills in order to transfer their knowledge and skills to young people. The focus is put on participation, active involvement, sharing of thoughts and feelings, learning by doing, exchange of good practice, group work and intercultural dimension.During the week participants will have a chance to go through an intensive training during which they will test several practical tools that aim at fostering various skills and abilities such as team work, leadership, coaching skills, effective learning and others. The Training Course is based on using various techniques together with presentations, discussions, role plays, exchange of good practice, and it will use several approaches that are all based on participant-centred methods. While the intercultural setting is an overall educational approach during the training as working/living/leisure experience, also the local environment is paid respect and attention to, in order to enable participants to get a glimpse of local culture .The TC will be based on project method way of training, which will ensure effective transfer of skills between youth leaders.The objectives of the training course are:• To provide youth leaders with the opportunity to exchange good practice and expertise in the field of youth work• To increase professional and generic competencies of youth leaders• To introduce the project method way of training to youth leaders, whilst enhancing their coaching skills• To develop follow-up projects for maintaining and strengthening long term international cooperation and exchange• To develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular to contribute to the social cohesion in the European UnionThese young leaders will return to their respective organizations and be equipped with new professional and generic competencies, which they will be able to transfer to their peers, creating new youth leaders in their environment. Long term strategy is based on local and international impact, as these young leaders will act as multipliers. The project method way of learning will enhance them with work know how, coaching skills and transferable skills, which they will transfer through their youth work. Every partner will ensure effective dissemination and visibility, which will make tremendous local impact. With networking of partner organizations and development of future projects, this TC will ensure long term international impact and growth of youth leaders, as well as introducing innovative and effective ways of training.
